When it comes to IRS Collections, we know that owing money to the IRS is very stressful. With interest and penalties, tax liabilities can quickly become unmanageable.

We have extensive experience in helping our clients proactively deal with the IRS and achieve the most favorable resolution as is possible under each client’s unique circumstances. The earlier you speak to us, the more flexibility we’ll have to be able to help you resolve your tax problems efficiently.

Our Approach

Every person’s tax situation is unique. We start out by learning about your particular circumstances and financial situation. Then, we will help you understand your options in dealing with IRS Collections or other tax agencies.

Here are some of the ways we can assist you:

  • Advise you of your options under the IRS Fresh Start program, Peoples First Initiative and Taxpayer Relief Initiative.
  • Advise you whether you are eligible for an Offer in Compromise (where the IRS will accept “cents on the dollar” in satisfaction of your entire tax liability). We will make sure you understand how the IRS evaluates these offers and that you are aware of the disadvantages in filing such an offer. We can represent you in the very fact-intensive OIC process and if the IRS has rejected a request that you handled on your own, we can advise you whether you should appeal the denial.
  • Negotiate an installment payment agreement or appeal the denial or termination of an installment agreement.
  • Compile documentation and justification to support IRS placing your account into “currently not collectible” status so that the IRS suspends active collection efforts.
  • Prevent and assist with removing liens, tax garnishments and levies.
  • Advise you with requesting Innocent Spouse relief (or appealing its denial) and assist you with resolving other tax complications arising from tax liabilities incurred during a prior marriage.
  • Represent you in trust fund recovery penalty (TFRP) investigations where the IRS asserts that you may be personally liable for unpaid payroll taxes of a business.
